HOME EXPLORATIONS + INVITATIONS

THE HEART - THE AB: Sensory Organ, Magnetic Field, Chakra Center, Wholeness, Wisdom + Guide.

Bringing a presence and awareness here. Place your hand on your heart, drop in, practice listening, and deepen your relationship with this voice within you. See what your heart begins to share with you.

Acknowledging the range of senses your heart moves through and see what ways it needs tending to each day. Morning, night, and any time in between.

Asking your heart things like “How are you feeling today?” “What do you need to feel nourished right now/today?” - and offer your heart at least one of the things that day. You’ll find it can be simple… a nourishing meal, cacao, a bath, a chat with a friend, the ocean, etc. Here we court our relationship with our hearts.

A DAILY HEART CHECK-IN: An invitation.

Courage comes from the French coeur, coeur which means heart. The bravest & most essential thing you can do is learn how to listen to the very thing that keeps you alive. Your heart is your compass, your lighthouse, your center, your dearest ally, & your wisest guide.”

Craig Holdrege from The Nature Institute wrote a book called “The Dynamic Heart and Circulation,” which witnesses and observes the heart on deeper levels other than its physicality. He writes: “It’s illuminating to think of the many words and expressions in the English language that relate to the heart. Here are a few: heartfelt, heartless, hardy, heart-rending, heartbreaking, heartache, faint-hearted, light-hearted, whole-hearted, having a heart-to-heart, taking heart, to have a heart, to lose heart, to have a heavy heart, to be warm-hearted or cold-hearted, heartsick, to search for your heart, to be on your heart's path, to put your heart at rest. When you go through each expression and feel it, you will enter a very richly nuisance world. The feelings that are associated with these expressions are often deep – heartsick, heart-to-heart – and span polarities, cold and warm-hearted, faint and light-hearted, and so on. They are mostly related to feelings that touch or encompass our inner core and are central to us. It’s one thing to search your brain for something, or to put your mind to something, and a very different matter to search from your heart for something, or to put your heart into it.”

ROSE MONOGRAPH STUDY: A deep dive into Rose Medicine, Origins, Archetypes.

Become content at heart” is to say merge with the image of the true self rather than the ego. Don’t let the rules, expectations and projections of a society that doesn’t see your true image define you. Only become content with the image of yourself thats free from the limits of the ego… The voice of love within us is the truth of who we are. This is how we can move in the world. ”

04. Henna Ceremony

with Guest Medina Trevathan

TUESDAY MAY 27, 10AM EST.

  • Ingredients:

    - 1 Tablespoon of 100% organic henna powder

    - One Teaspoon essential oil (ROSE would be wonderful, but anything like Lavender, tea tree, eucalyptus or any other beautiful scent)

    - One Teaspoon sugar

    - Lotus + Rose (tea) Water to consistency.

    STEPS:

    1) Add your dry ingredients (henna powder and sugar) to a bowl and mix.

    2) Add your wet ingredients, water/tea and essential oil and mix thoroughly, you want to achieve the consistency of thick mashed potatoes, don’t worry about it being lumpy right now!

    3) Leave your henna to sit for 3-24 hours to ensure that the henna paste has time to release its dye. The longer it sits the more potent the dye. It should be left covered with cling film pressed onto the paste and somewhere warm, I often leave it near the boiler or near a radiator. The heat is necessary for the dye to release.

    4) Before our session take your henna and add water/tea little by little mixing and checking the consistency until it’s smooth and gloopy.

If you’re feeling confused about any of the steps, this page https://gopi-henna.com/blogs/what-is-white-henna/super-simple-henna-recipe is a great resource and has a video included on how to prepare the paste

Don’t worry! Your henna doest have to be perfect, it just has to be.
